Youth Brutally Murdered Near Chetty Street in Coimbatore

A 24-year-old youth from Kempatti Colony was chased and hacked to death near Chetty Street, Coimbatore. The incident, stemming from a drunken argument, shocked local residents.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a 24-year-old youth was brutally murdered near Chetty Street in Coimbatore.



The victim, identified as Gokul from Kempatti Colony, was chased and hacked to death by a group of young men following an altercation.

The gruesome incident unfolded in the Balaji Avenue area, where Gokul was pursued by his assailants. The attackers, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, cornered Gokul and assaulted him with sharp weapons and wooden logs. The brutal attack left Gokul bleeding profusely as he attempted to escape and hide.

Tragically, Gokul succumbed to his injuries despite his efforts to flee. Local residents, alarmed by the trail of blood on the street, followed it and immediately alerted the police about the incident.

Upon receiving the information, the Selvapuram police arrived at the scene and recovered Gokul's body. They have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder. The police are working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators involved in this heinous crime.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about public safety and the prevalence of alcohol-fueled violence in the area. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
