Thousands Participate in Special Vinayagar Chaturthi Worship at Century-Old Prasanna Vinayagar Temple in Udumalpet

Thousands of devotees gathered at the 100-year-old Prasanna Vinayagar Temple in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, for special Vinayagar Chaturthi celebrations. The event featured elaborate rituals and decorations, drawing worshippers from surrounding areas.


Coimbatore: The renowned 100-year-old Arulmiku Prasanna Vinayagar Temple in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district, witnessed a grand celebration of Vinayagar Chaturthi today. Thousands of devotees from Udumalpet and neighboring areas flocked to the temple to seek blessings and participate in the special rituals.

The day began with a homa pooja in the morning, followed by elaborate abhishekams using 16 different substances, including milk and curd. The deity was adorned with special decorations, blessing the devotees who had gathered in large numbers. After the rituals, prasadam was distributed to the worshippers.

Similar celebrations were observed at other temples in Udumalpet. The Vinai Theerkum Vinayagar Temple near the Government Hospital area featured a golden kavacham (armor) decoration. At the Sri Siddhi Buddhi Vinayagar Temple in Udumalpet Kuttai Thidal area, Lord Ganesha was adorned with sandalwood paste and flowers, attracting numerous devotees for darshan.

The centenary-old Prasanna Vinayagar Temple's Ganesh Chaturthi celebration stands as a testament to the enduring faith and cultural significance of the festival in the region. The massive turnout of devotees underscores the importance of this religious occasion in bringing communities together for worship and celebration.
