Deputy Mayor Distributes Free Bicycles to Students at Sundakkamuthur Government Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore

Coimbatore Deputy Mayor Vetri Selvan inaugurated the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's free bicycle distribution scheme at Sundakkamuthur Government Higher Secondary School on September 4, benefiting students in Perur Taluk.


Coimbatore: In a significant event held on September 4, Coimbatore Corporation Deputy Mayor Vetri Selvan launched the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's free bicycle distribution scheme at the Sundakkamuthur Government Higher Secondary School in Perur Taluk, Coimbatore district.



The ceremony, aimed at providing free bicycles to school students, was attended by various officials and dignitaries. The school's headmaster, 89th Ward Councillor Murugesan, Coimbatore North District Deputy Secretary Jayanthi, teachers, students, and members of the school management committee were present at the function.

This initiative, part of the Tamil Nadu government's commitment to enhancing educational accessibility, is expected to benefit numerous students in the region. The free bicycle scheme is designed to ease transportation challenges faced by students, particularly those from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, thereby promoting regular school attendance and reducing dropout rates.
