Dravidar Kazhagam Protests in Coimbatore Against Central Government's National Education Policy

Dravidar Kazhagam members staged a demonstration in Coimbatore, condemning the central government's stance on the National Education Policy and alleged withholding of educational funds for Tamil Nadu.

Coimbatore: Members of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) staged a protest near Ukkadam Bus Stand in Coimbatore on Thursday, condemning the central government's actions regarding the National Education Policy (NEP) and the alleged withholding of educational funds for Tamil Nadu.

The demonstration comes in the wake of the Tamil Nadu government's refusal to implement the NEP. The state government has claimed that the central government is not providing the necessary educational funds to Tamil Nadu due to this stance. In response, various organizations across Tamil Nadu have been conducting protest demonstrations against the central government.

As part of this ongoing movement, the youth wing of Dravidar Kazhagam and the Dravida Manavar Kazhagam organized the protest in Coimbatore. More than 30 members from the Coimbatore district unit of Dravidar Kazhagam participated in the demonstration, raising slogans against the central government.

The protesters accused the central government of trying to impose the National Education Policy on Tamil Nadu. They also alleged that the central government is refusing to provide the necessary funds to the state as retaliation for rejecting the NEP.

The demonstration in Coimbatore is part of a larger series of protests taking place across Tamil Nadu, reflecting the growing tension between the state and central governments over the implementation of the National Education Policy.
