Village Assistants' Association Demands Jobs for Heirs of Deceased Employees in Udumalpet

The District Tamil Nadu Revenue Village Employees Association in Udumalpet passed resolutions including compassionate employment for heirs of deceased village assistants and implementation of old pension scheme.



Tirupur: The District Tamil Nadu Revenue Village Employees Association held a general body meeting at a private marriage hall in Udumalpet, Tirupur district. The meeting saw the passage of 14 key resolutions, focusing on the welfare and rights of village assistants.

Among the primary demands, the association called for providing compassionate employment to the heirs of deceased village assistants. Other significant resolutions included the implementation of time-scale salaries for village assistants, inclusion in the D-category list, and reinstatement of the old pension scheme.



The meeting also witnessed the appointment of new office bearers for the Udumalpet taluk branch. Giri was named as the taluk president, Marimuthu as vice president, Parameswaran as secretary, Alagiri as joint secretary, Kalaichelvi as treasurer, and Palanisamy and Suganthi as district representatives.



Several prominent figures attended the district general body meeting, including former state association advisors Mariappan and Mahendran, Tiruppur district president Natarajan, district auditor Subramanian, district deputy secretary Senthilkumar, state executive committee member Saktivel, and Madathukulam taluk officials Karuppusamy, Ponnusamy, and Rajalakshmi.

The resolutions passed at this meeting reflect the ongoing concerns and aspirations of village assistants in Tamil Nadu, particularly regarding job security, fair compensation, and benefits for their families in case of untimely demise.
