DMDK Celebrates Captain Vijayakanth's 72nd Birthday in Coimbatore

DMDK members in Coimbatore celebrated Captain Vijayakanth's 72nd birthday at Ashokapuram, Thudiyalur. The event included flag hoisting, distribution of coconut saplings, and a free meal for 1000 people.



Coimbatore: The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) celebrated the 72nd birthday of its founder and actor Captain Vijayakanth in grand style at Ashokapuram Four Road area near Thudiyalur, Coimbatore. The event, organized by the Periyanaickenpalayam Union of the party, saw enthusiastic participation from party members and the public.

The celebration began with District Secretary Shanmugavadivel leading the proceedings. He paid respects to Captain Vijayakanth by garlanding his portrait and lighting camphor. Following this, the DMDK party flag was hoisted on a 35-foot flagpole, with attendees raising slogans praising Captain Vijayakanth.



As part of the celebrations, 100 coconut saplings were distributed to the public by District Secretary Shanmuga Pandian and Periyanaickenpalayam Union Secretary Sakkaiyan. The event also included a free meal (annadanam) served to about 1000 people, showcasing the party's commitment to public service.

Similar birthday celebration events were held at various locations including NGO Colony Gate, Narasimmanaickenpalayam, and Periyanaickenpalayam. The arrangements for these events were made by Periyanaickenpalayam East Union Secretary Sakkaiah.

The festivities saw participation from several party functionaries including Union Council Chairman Vadamadurai Murugan, Sahul Amidu, Thangadurai, Arumugam, Vimalbalaji, Suleiman, Ajith, Ramesh, Bagyaraj, Bonus Babu, Thingalur Babu, Dhanapal, Thudiyalur Ramesh, Sudalaimuthu, Ganesan, Vijayakumar, Balaji, Siva, Auto Arumugam, Lakshmanan, Durai, and Sivamurugan among others.

The birthday celebrations of Captain Vijayakanth, who founded DMDK and is known for his illustrious career in Tamil cinema, continue to be a significant event for party members, demonstrating their loyalty and admiration for their leader.
