Grand Kumbabhishekam Ceremony Held at Sangkarandampalayam Temples Near Dharapuram

A grand Kumbabhishekam ceremony was held at two ancient temples in Sangkarandampalayam near Dharapuram, drawing thousands of devotees. The event featured elaborate rituals and special pujas for the renovated temples.

Coimbatore: The Arulmigu Avimukta Sweta Ganapati Temple and Pattakkarar Perianna Venaavudaiyaar Temple in Sangkarandampalayam near Dharapuram, Tiruppur district, witnessed a grand Ashtabandana Maha Kumbabhishekam ceremony on Sunday. These historic temples, whose idols were sculpted in Kashi and brought here 75 years ago, drew thousands of devotees for the special event.

The ceremony began with a series of rituals including Ganapati Homam, Sri Lakshmi Puja Homam, and Navagraha Homams. The Ashtabandana ritual was performed for the main deities and parivara deities, followed by Kaala Yaga Pujas, Naadhi Santhanam, and Deepaaradhana.

The holy water for the Kumbabhishekam was brought in a ceremonial procession from the yagasala. The main Kumbabhishekam was first performed for the Avimukta Sweta Ganapati, followed by simultaneous Kumbabhishekams for all vimanams, including that of Pattakkarar Perianna Venaavudaiyaar. The consecrated water was then sprinkled on devotees using motor pumps from the temple's gopuram kalasam.

The event concluded with special pujas. Devotees from Dharapuram, Sangkarandampalayam, Nochi Palayam, Kulla Kalipalayam, Alampalayam, Uthiyur, Kundadam, and surrounding areas thronged the temples to witness the Maha Kumbabhishekam.

The ceremony was organized by former Palani MLA Venugopalan, local residents, and 11 priests led by Thandapani Sivachariar from Lakkama Nayakkanpatti. Temple president Manivannan also played a key role in the arrangements.
