Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Dr. Karthikeyan, along with Pollachi Deputy Superintendent of Police Jayachandran and other police officials, conducted a comprehensive security audit at the Pollachi District Government Hospital on Thursday night.
The inspection focused on identifying areas behind buildings that require additional lighting and locations needing extra CCTV camera coverage. The hospital administration was advised on strategic placement of additional CCTV cameras, particularly in areas frequented by medical students and doctors during night shifts.

Dr. Karthikeyan instructed that additional police personnel should be deployed from the nearby police station when required at the morgue. He also emphasized the need for increased police presence in the emergency department during peak hours, with reinforcements to be sent from the nearest police station when necessary.

The SP assured that the outpost police station within the hospital premises would be adequately staffed. He directed night patrol units to visit the hospital premises two to three times during their rounds to ensure constant vigilance.

Emphasizing prompt response to hospital emergencies, Dr. Karthikeyan instructed that police from the nearest station should immediately investigate any complaints received from the hospital.

The security audit aimed to enhance overall safety measures within the hospital premises, ensuring a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

This proactive approach by the Coimbatore police department demonstrates their commitment to maintaining law and order in critical public institutions like hospitals.
