Coimbatore: In a heartwarming display of solidarity, vehicle owners and drivers from Udumalpet in Tiruppur district have come together to provide financial assistance to the flood-affected people of Wayanad district in Kerala. The initiative was organized by three WhatsApp groups - Star Transport WhatsApp Group, TN 78 WhatsApp Group, and KSD WhatsApp Group.

The fundraising effort was prompted by the recent landslides in Wayanad that claimed over 400 lives. A message was circulated on WhatsApp, urging members to contribute to the relief fund for the affected people in Kerala.

Responding to the call, more than a hundred vehicle owners and drivers from Udumalpet collectively raised a sum of Rs. 40,886. The amount was transferred to the Kerala Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund through the State Bank of India's Udumalpet branch.

The organizers of this initiative have appealed to everyone to come forward and contribute to the relief efforts for the people affected by the Wayanad landslides. They emphasized the importance of unity and compassion during such challenging times.

This gesture from the Udumalpet transport community highlights the spirit of solidarity that often emerges during natural disasters, transcending state boundaries. It serves as a reminder of the power of collective action and the impact that even small contributions can make in alleviating the suffering of those affected by calamities.
