Coimbatore: In a horrifying incident, a woman was brutally attacked by a neighbor's pet dog while she was sweeping her house in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. The victim, Sindhu, suffered severe injuries to her right hand, hip, and thigh area.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening when Sindhu was cleaning the front yard of her house located on the 9th Street of Hundred Feet Road, Rajendra Prasad Road in Gandhipuram. Isaac Babu, a resident of the same area, was walking his pet dog when it suddenly lunged at Sindhu and mauled her.
Sindhu, whose husband works in a private company, was immediately rushed to a hospital in Coimbatore for treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to a medical facility in Coonoor, where she is currently receiving injections as part of her treatment.
Local residents have reported that this is not an isolated incident. The same dog has allegedly bitten more than 10 people in the area previously. The community has expressed their concerns about the dog owner's negligence, claiming that the pet has not been vaccinated despite repeated complaints.
Residents have accused Isaac Babu of being indifferent to their concerns and failing to take necessary precautions with his aggressive pet. They are now demanding stricter measures to ensure the safety of the neighborhood and proper vaccination of pet dogs to prevent such incidents in the future.
This attack has raised serious questions about pet ownership responsibilities and the need for stricter enforcement of pet vaccination and control measures in residential areas of Coimbatore.
