Coimbatore: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), affiliated with the Communist Party of India (United), organized an event in Udumalaipettai, Tiruppur district, to distribute pension orders to unorganized workers. The ceremony was presided over by Abbas, a state committee member of the party.
Gunasekaran, the district secretary of the trade union, handed over pension orders to 63 unorganized workers from the district. Additionally, two families received natural death relief assistance during the event.
The function was attended by several prominent figures from the Communist Party of India (United) and CITU. Notable attendees included Moorthy, the district secretary of the party, Kanni Muthu, the southern union secretary, Vaidehi, the women's wing organizer, Cable Moorthy, the southern union president, and Deiva Kumar, the Udumalaipettai town secretary.
The distribution of pension orders and relief assistance is part of the ongoing efforts by trade unions and political parties to support unorganized workers in the region.
