The bakery, located on Ukkadam Bypass Road, is owned by Irfan (22), son of Moosa from G.M. Nagar, Kottaiputhur. Irfan had closed and locked the bakery on the evening of August 5 before returning home.
When he returned to open the bakery on the morning of August 6, Irfan discovered that the roof had been damaged. Upon entering the premises, he found that Rs. 12,000 in cash was missing from inside.
Irfan immediately filed a complaint at the Kadeiveethi police station regarding the theft. Sub-Inspector Bama has registered a case and is currently investigating the incident.
