Residents of Kurichiputur in Coimbatore protest against the establishment of a TASMAC bar by displaying flex banners. They submitted petitions to Minister Mahesh, District Collector's office, and Sundharapuram Police Station.

Coimbatore: Residents of Kurichiputur, located near Kandharapuram in Coimbatore, are protesting against the ongoing establishment of a TASMAC bar in their area. The proposed bar is situated in the LIC Colony, a locality densely populated with residential houses and industrial units. The local community has been staging various protests to express their opposition to the liquor outlet in their neighborhood.

In a recent development, the residents submitted petitions to Minister Mahesh, voicing their concerns about the TASMAC bar. They also handed over petitions to the District Collector's office and the Sundharapuram Police Station, seeking intervention in the matter.

To further emphasize their opposition, the residents have now put up flex banners at four different locations. These banners are displayed at the entrance of the road leading to Kurichiputur from Pollachi Road and at various points within the locality. This visual protest is aimed at drawing attention to their cause and making their stance clear to the authorities.

The primary concern of the residents is the potential social issues that may arise from having a liquor outlet in a residential and industrial area. They fear it could lead to various problems affecting the community's safety and well-being. The public is urging the authorities to prevent the establishment of the bar to maintain the area's social fabric.

The residents are hopeful that their concerns will be addressed promptly, and a solution will be found to resolve this issue. They continue to stand firm in their opposition, expecting the relevant authorities to take appropriate action in response to their protests and petitions.
