Coimbatore: The Kongu Nadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KNMDK) organized a tribute event to honor freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai on his 219th death anniversary near the central bus stand in Udumalpet, Tiruppur district. The event was led by KNMDK state executive committee member Kongu Ravi and district secretary Ragupathi Raghavan.
The ceremony included garlanding and paying floral tributes to a decorated portrait of Dheeran Chinnamalai, who fought against the British during India's struggle for independence.

Pollachi Member of Parliament Eswaran, DMK's Tiruppur South District Youth Wing Organizer Jayakumar, and Udumalpet Town Secretary Velusamy were among the special invitees present at the event. Other notable attendees included Udumalpet East Union Secretary Thangaraj, District Trade Wing Secretary Metrathi Thangaraj, Appar Group Chairman Ilango, Sabapathi, and Vasantham Books Periya Thambi.
