MLA Jayaraman Inspects Collapsed Compound Wall of Modern Rice Mill in Pollachi

The compound wall of Modern Rice Mill in Teachers Colony, Pollachi, collapsed due to heavy southwest monsoon rains. MLA Jayaraman visited the site to assess the damage.


Coimbatore: The compound wall of Modern Rice Mill in Teachers Colony, Pollachi, collapsed on Monday evening due to persistent heavy rains in the region. The incident caused minor damage to nearby houses, but fortunately, no casualties were reported as the houses were unoccupied at the time.



Pollachi and surrounding areas have been experiencing widespread rainfall due to the southwest monsoon. The continuous downpour has led to the collapse of walls and damage to houses in various locations. The collapse of the rice mill's compound wall is the latest in a series of rain-related incidents in the area.



Pollachi MLA Jayaraman visited the site to assess the situation personally. He inspected the damaged wall and the affected houses in the vicinity. During his visit, the MLA urged the officials of Modern Rice Mill to take immediate action to reconstruct the compound wall to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of nearby residents.

The local authorities are on high alert as the monsoon rains continue to lash the region. Residents are advised to stay vigilant and report any signs of structural weakness in buildings or walls to the concerned officials promptly.
