Coimbatore: In a colorful display of wildlife conservation awareness, more than 500 school students took to the streets of Udumalpet in Tiruppur district to mark International Tiger Day. The rally, which began at the Netaji Sports Ground, saw enthusiastic participation from both government and private school students.

Tiruppur District Forest Officer Devendra Kumar Meena flagged off the rally, emphasizing the importance of tiger conservation in his address to the participants. The procession wound its way through key areas of the town, including Rajendra Road, the new bus stand, the old bus stand, and Thali Road, before concluding at the Udumalpet Forest Range Office.

The highlight of the event was the students' creative approach to spreading awareness. Many participants donned tiger costumes and masks, dancing and singing as they marched through the streets.
