Coimbatore: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) launched its "Door-to-Door Youth Wing Membership" campaign in Ward 36 of Coimbatore on Thursday, July 25, 2024. The initiative, part of a statewide effort, aims to bolster the leadership of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and is spearheaded by Youth Wing Secretary and Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development, Udhayanidhi Stalin.

N. Karthik, former MLA and Coimbatore Urban District Secretary of DMK, inaugurated the membership drive in the Vadavalli area, specifically in Kamakshi Amman Kovil and Ramasamy Pillai Street. The event, organized by the Coimbatore Urban District Youth Wing, was overseen by R. Dhanpal, the district youth wing organizer, along with deputy organizers Coimbatore Arun, Laura Premdev, and Durai Pravin.

The membership drive saw active participation from various DMK functionaries, including ward secretaries Viswanathan, Velusamy, Balakrishnan, Kathiresan, and Deivam Mahalakshmi. City Council member Lakshmi MC, wing organizers V. Mani and Rajkumar, along with other party executives, activists, youth members, and party affiliates, were also present at the event.

This campaign is part of the DMK's broader strategy to strengthen its youth base across Tamil Nadu. The party aims to recruit new members and energize its youth wing, which plays a crucial role in grassroots-level party activities and voter outreach.

The "Door-to-Door Youth Wing Membership" drive underscores the DMK's focus on youth engagement and its efforts to expand its support base at the local level. As the campaign continues across Coimbatore and other parts of Tamil Nadu, it is expected to significantly boost the party's organizational strength and prepare for future electoral challenges.
