Bus crew praised for returning Rs.20,000 left behind by passenger in Coimbatore

A bus driver and conductor in Coimbatore were commended for their honesty after returning Rs.20,000 and other belongings left behind by a female passenger on Friday, July 19.


Coimbatore: In a commendable act of honesty, a bus driver and conductor in Coimbatore were praised for returning Rs.20,000 and other belongings left behind by a female passenger. The incident occurred on Friday, July 19, on the TN 38 N 3524, 20A route bus plying from Somanur to Gandhipuram.

Driver K. Vijayakumar and conductor V.A. Murugan were on duty when a female passenger accidentally left her belongings on the bus. The vigilant crew members noticed the forgotten items and took immediate action to return them to the rightful owner.

Upon receiving her lost possessions, which included Rs.20,000 in cash and other personal items, the female passenger expressed immense joy and gratitude towards the honest bus crew. She confirmed that all her belongings were intact, highlighting the integrity of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) employees.

In recognition of their exemplary behavior, which has brought honor to the Coimbatore Government Transport Corporation and its employees, Managing Director Joseph Dias summoned the two employees to his office on Sunday, July 23. He personally commended them for their honesty and dedication to duty, which has earned praise from passengers and the general public alike.

This incident serves as a shining example of the integrity and commitment of public transport employees, reinforcing public trust in the TNSTC services in Coimbatore.
