DMK Youth Wing Celebrates 45th Anniversary with Garland Ceremony at Anna Statue in Kurichi, Coimbatore

DMK's Youth Wing marked its 45th year by garlanding Anna's statue in Kurichi, Coimbatore. The event, led by DMK South District Secretary Thalapathy Murugesan, included flag hoisting and sweet distribution.


Coimbatore: The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Youth Wing stepped into its 45th year today, July 20, marking 44 years since its establishment by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in 1980. To commemorate this milestone, the DMK South District unit organized a celebratory event in the Kurichi area of Coimbatore.

The celebration centered around the statue of Arignar Anna, the revered leader and founder of the DMK. Thalapathy Murugesan, the DMK South District Secretary, led the proceedings by garlanding Anna's statue. The event also featured the hoisting of the DMK party flag, symbolizing the party's enduring presence and influence in the region.



As part of the festivities, sweets were distributed to those present, adding a touch of joy to the occasion. The ceremony was attended by various DMK administrators and party workers, who gathered to show their support and partake in the celebration of their party's youth wing.

This event not only marked the longevity of the DMK Youth Wing but also served as a reminder of the party's commitment to engaging and empowering young political activists. The choice of Anna's statue as the focal point of the celebration underscored the party's connection to its founding principles and historical legacy.
