Coimbatore: Heavy rainfall continues to lash Valparai and its surrounding estate areas in the Coimbatore district. The downpour has prompted local authorities to take preventive measures and inspect vulnerable areas.

In response to the weather conditions, Valparai Municipal Chairman Alagu Sundaravalli, along with Ward Member Senthilkumar and DMK Town Secretary Sudhakar, conducted an inspection in the Kamarajar Nagar residential area. The team assessed various ongoing infrastructure works aimed at preventing flooding and improving drainage systems.

The inspection covered several areas including Anna Nagar, Thulasinga Nagar, Kamarajar Nagar, MGR Nagar, Vazhaithotam, Children's Park, and Kakan Colony. The primary focus was on the construction of pedestrian pathways and drainage canals. These projects are designed to prevent river water from entering residential areas during heavy rains.
