Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi conducted a surprise inspection at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Kottur, near Pollachi, on Thursday. The minister's unexpected visit was part of his tour through the Valparai assembly constituency in Coimbatore district.

The Kottur area, located near Pollachi, is home to both boys' and girls' government higher secondary schools, with over 500 students enrolled. Minister Poyyamozhi, who was en route from Pollachi via Kottur, made an unscheduled stop at the girls' school in the Malayandipattanam area of Kottur.

During his visit, the minister engaged directly with the students, inquiring about their individual talents and skills. He also interacted with the teachers, discussing the academic performance and capabilities of the students. In the presence of the teaching staff, Minister Poyyamozhi asked the students questions related to the day's lessons, demonstrating his interest in their educational progress.

Addressing the students, the minister emphasized the importance of higher education. He encouraged the rural students, stating, "As students from a village, you must absolutely avoid dropping out after secondary education. It is crucial that you pursue higher education." His words aimed to motivate the students to continue their academic journey beyond school.

The surprise inspection not only allowed the minister to assess the school's functioning firsthand but also provided an opportunity for direct interaction with students and teachers in a rural setting, reinforcing the government's commitment to education in all areas of the state.
