Coimbatore District Records Average Rainfall of 25.25 mm

The Disaster Management Department released rainfall data for Coimbatore district, recording an average of 25.25 mm from yesterday to this morning, with Sholayar receiving the highest at 140 mm.


Coimbatore: The Disaster Management Department has released the rainfall data for Coimbatore district on July 16, covering the period from yesterday to this morning.

According to the report, the following areas recorded varying levels of rainfall: Agricultural University - 11.20 mm, Periyanaickenpalayam - 1.80 mm, Mettupalayam - 33.50 mm, Annur - 2.40 mm, Coimbatore South - 2.50 mm, Sulur - 11 mm, Varapatti - 15 mm, Thondamuthur - 5 mm, Siruvani Foothills - 95 mm, Madukkarai Taluk - 5 mm, Podanur Railway Station - 3 mm, Pollachi - 66 mm, Makkinampatti - 88 mm, Kinathukadavu - 13 mm, Anaimalai - 39 mm, Aliyar - 49 mm, and Sholayar - 140 mm.

It is noteworthy that the Coimbatore district has recorded a total rainfall of 580.70 mm, with an average rainfall of 25.25 mm. The highest rainfall was recorded in Sholayar at 140 mm, while the lowest was in Periyanaickenpalayam at 1.80 mm.

The varied rainfall across different areas of the district indicates a diverse precipitation pattern, which could have implications for agriculture, water resources, and overall environmental conditions in the region.
