Coimbatore Trains Diverted via Irugur-Podanur Due to Maintenance Work

Several trains bypassing Coimbatore Junction from July 14-17 due to track maintenance at Peelamedu. Podanur to serve as temporary stop for affected trains.


Coimbatore: The Salem Railway Division has announced that several trains will be diverted via the Irugur-Podanur route, bypassing Coimbatore Junction, due to maintenance work on the railway tracks at Peelamedu in Coimbatore.

According to the official statement, the following trains will be affected on July 14, 15, and 17: Chennai Egmore - Mangaluru Central Express (No. 16159), Dibrugarh - Kanyakumari Express (No. 22504), New Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram Express (No. 12626), Bengaluru - Ernakulam Express (No. 12677), Alappuzha - Dhanbad Express (No. 13352), and Ernakulam - Bengaluru Express (No. 12678).

These trains will be re-routed via Podanur and Irugur, skipping the Coimbatore Junction. Podanur will serve as a temporary stop for these trains during the maintenance period.

Additionally, the Patna - Ernakulam Express (No. 22644) and Silchar - Thiruvananthapuram Express (No. 12508) will also be diverted via the Podanur - Irugur route on July 14. These trains will not halt at Coimbatore Junction, with Podanur serving as the temporary stop.

Passengers planning to travel on these dates are advised to take note of the changes in the train routes and make necessary arrangements accordingly. The railway authorities have implemented these diversions to ensure the timely completion of maintenance work while minimizing disruptions to the train schedules.
