Corporation Commissioner Inspects 24/7 Water Supply Project Works in Coimbatore

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS inspected the ongoing 24/7 water supply project works by Suez in Central and North zones on July 5, 2023. He directed officials to expedite the pipeline installation process.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran IAS conducted an inspection of the ongoing 24/7 water supply project works being carried out by Suez in the Central and North zones of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation on Wednesday (July 5, 2023).

The Commissioner visited the project sites to review the progress of main pipeline installation works. In the Central Zone, he inspected the ongoing pipeline laying works at Nanjundapuram Road, Ward 62, near the railway underpass. In the North Zone, he examined the pipeline installation process at Gaundampalayam Nallampalayam, Jai Nagar in Ward 62, also near a railway underpass.



During the inspection, Commissioner Prabhakaran instructed the officials to expedite the completion of the ongoing project works. He emphasized the importance of timely execution to ensure the successful implementation of the 24/7 water supply scheme in these areas.

Prior to the field visit, the Commissioner also inspected the functioning of the automated customer service machine installed by Suez at the Central Zone tax collection center in Sungam. This machine is part of the efforts to enhance customer service and streamline water-related transactions for residents.



The inspection tour was accompanied by several officials, including Chief Engineer Anbalazhagan, Assistant Commissioner Senthilkumaran, Executive Engineers Karuppasamy and Ezhil, Ward Councilor Radhakrishnan, Assistant Executive Engineer Hemalatha, and Water Supply Project Management Consultant Team Leader Gopalakrishnan. Other officials present were Assistant Engineers Nagaraj and Ravikannan, along with Suez Project Director Sangram Patnaik.



The Commissioner's visit underscores the municipal corporation's commitment to closely monitoring and ensuring the smooth progress of the 24/7 water supply project, which aims to improve water distribution and accessibility for residents in Coimbatore's Central and North zones.
