TNAU Coimbatore Certifies New Remote Pilot Training Graduates

TNAU Coimbatore has marked a milestone by certifying the latest batch of remote pilot training graduates under its RPTO program, supported by NAHEP.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has become a recognized Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The institution recently celebrated this achievement by awarding certificates to its latest batch of 104 remote pilot trainees. The certification event took place in the Vice Chancellor’s conference room and was noted as a significant milestone under the Institution Development Plan (IDP) supported by the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).

The event highlighted the hard work and achievements of the participants who successfully completed rigorous training in remote piloting operations. The training, supported by advanced curriculum and industry collaboration, enhances essential skills among graduates for unmanned aerial vehicle operations, crucial for agriculture, disaster management, environmental monitoring, and infrastructure studies.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. V. Geethalakshmi emphasized the university’s commitment to innovating agricultural practices through advanced technology by distributing the certificates. Dr. S. Palanivelan, Director of the Water and Geospatial Research Center, remarked that the RPTO certification not only confirms the skill level of the graduates in drone operations but also prepares them to contribute to agricultural development and beyond.

The ceremony was well-attended by university officials, including the Registrar, Directors of Open and Distance Learning, the Deputy Registrar, Education Coordinator, and trainers from NAHEP and RPTO.

Participants expressed their gratitude for the extensive training which prepared them to address contemporary challenges in their fields using their newly acquired expertise.
