Tourists Advised Not to Visit Kovai Kutralam Falls Until Further Notice

The Forest Department continues its ban on bathing at Kovai Kutralam Falls due to safety concerns amidst early seasonal flooding. Tourists are advised to refrain from visiting until further notice.

Coimbatore: The Forest Department has reiterated the ban on bathing at Kovai Kutralam Falls, extending the prohibition amid persistent concerns. The decision mirrors actions taken on July 4 in previous years, which also saw restrictions due to flooding. This year, the measures have been put in place earlier than usual following unexpected early rainfall that has led to increased water levels at the falls.

The Department has announced that Kovai Kutralam Falls will be closed for several more days and has urged the public not to visit the area until a reassessment of conditions is completed. This precautionary measure ensures the safety of visitors against potential hazards posed by the current unstable and unsafe water flow conditions.
