Police Commissioner Balakrishnan announces ongoing raids against illicit liquor in Coimbatore and details about Expo-2024, including various family-oriented stalls by police families, home loan exhibitions by banks, and free yoga classes.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore is witnessing a significant crackdown on illicit liquor, as confirmed by Police Commissioner Balakrishnan. The police are actively conducting raids across the city to curb the menace.

Additionally, the vibrant Expo-2024 in Coimbatore showcases a plethora of stalls from police families and offers insights into home loans and property purchasing from more than ten national banks.

This three-day event also features informative sessions on self-employment opportunities presented by 15 stalls operated by police family members. Produced goods by these families are displayed, drawing considerable public interest. Following this, free yoga classes are also scheduled, promoting health and well-being among attendees.

In combating illegal activities, Balakrishnan emphasized strict measures against any violations, including intense scrutiny through surveillance cameras, particularly of youths engaging in stunts during nighttime. Those involved in the clandestine sale of liquor are being investigated, and strict actions, including license cancellation, are promised as per the need.

The ongoing investigations have already seen arrests related to drug-related offenses, including a significant case involving a Nigerian national in Thudiyalur, linked with broader international connections under close scrutiny for timely legal action.
