Corporation Commissioner distributes millet-based porridge packets to pregnant women at Corporation health centres.
Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has tied up with Sanlak Agro a leading Distributor & Supplier of Healthy grains and millet products to distribute millet-based porridge food packets to the patients, especially pregnant women at all Primary Health Centers.
Today at the SSM Primary Healthcare centre, Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan, CCMC Commissioner distributed the millet-based health drink packets to pregnant women.
Speaking at the occasion, he said, 'It is proven that millet based diet helps to maintain a healthy life sans diabetes, blood pressure and also aids in boosting the immune system. Hence, every Thursday at all Corporation primary health centres, pregnant women and the patients will be provided with 250 gm of these millet porridge packets to enhance their health'.
Deputy Commissioner, P. Gandhimathi, Central Zone Health Officer, Gunasekaran, Health Officers of SSM health centre, Dr. Ilamathi, Dr. Hemalatha and other officials from health and corporation departments were present during the distribution event.
