The UGC-NET June 2024 Examination conducted by NTA on 18th June has been cancelled. This decision follows inputs from National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) indicating potential integrity issues. A fresh exam date will be announced later.
Coimbatore: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has officially cancelled the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination, which was originally conducted in OMR mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 18th, 2024. This decision comes following critical inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the examination's security.
The inputs suggested that the integrity of the exam might have been compromised, leading to the Ministry of Education's decision to cancel the examination to maintain the transparency and sanctity of the assessment process. The UGC has declared that the examination will be reconducted, and details about the new schedule will be provided separately.
Meanwhile, the matter has been escalated to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for a thorough investigation to ensure the accountability and integrity of the nation's examination processes.
