Coimbatore Corporation Acts on Open Manholes in Gandhipuram After Public Outcry

Following a recent incident where a woman fell into an open manhole, Coimbatore Corporation, under orders from Commissioner Sivaguruprabakaran IAS, has covered all open manholes on 100 Feet Road, Gandhipuram.


Coimbatore: In a swift response to a public safety issue highlighted by SimpliCity News, Coimbatore Corporation has taken remedial action on 100 Feet Road, Gandhipuram. Recent events underscored the hazards posed by uncovered manholes after a distressing incident where a local woman slipped and fell into one of these traps. This prompted an immediate review and action by the local governing body.


Under the directive from Coimbatore City Corporation Commissioner Sivaguruprabakaran IAS, maintenance teams were prompt to seal all the manholes in the area properly. This move was necessitated after SimpliCity's report and the subsequent public outrage that followed the incident.
