Dr. TRB Rajaa Steers Coimbatore Development Talks with 'Coimbatore Next'

Minister for Industries Dr. TRB Rajaa met with Coimbatore's industrial leaders under 'Coimbatore Next' to discuss development projects and promised a partnership to achieve 'Kovai Rising' goals. The meeting highlighted collaborative efforts towards regional economic growth.



Coimbatore: In a significant meeting held on June 14, 2024, Dr. TRB Rajaa, the Minister for Industries, met with the forefront industrial and corporate figures of Coimbatore under the banner 'Coimbatore Next' to deliberate on the implementation of various developmental and industrial projects.



The engagement emphasized the Tamil Nadu Government's initiative in bolstering the industrial growth of the region, reinforcing a collaborative framework between the state government and Coimbatore’s business leaders.



Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajaa emphasized the government's commitment to the systematic execution of promised projects in Coimbatore, with active cooperation from the industry. He assured that the Tamil Nadu Government will partner with ‘Coimbatore Next’ to track and fulfill the commitments made under the “Kovai Rising” manifesto, ensuring that Coimbatore realizes its full economic potential.

“The doors of the Government of Tamil Nadu, under the leadership of Chief Minister MK Stalin, are always open to the business community of the state. The Chief Minister has his ears to the ground, is open to feedback and constructive criticism, and acts on them immediately. The Chief Minister has mandated us to deliver on our promises, and I am confident that we will. Together, we will take Coimbatore to the next level, ensuring that this city and the region rise to its rightful place,” said Dr. Rajaa.



The Minister pointed out the pace at which the promise for the new Coimbatore International Cricket Stadium has been kept as an illustration of this government’s speed, stating that the Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and himself had visited a possible site for the stadium today, just ten days since the results of the General Elections.



The event was attended by Dr. R Nandini, Chairperson of the CII Southern Region and Managing Director of Chandra Textiles Pvt Ltd; Dr. K Senthil Ganesh, Immediate Past Chairman of CII Coimbatore and CEO of Transform Tech (I) Pvt Ltd.; V Thirugnanam, President of CODISSIA; V Arjun Prakash, Steering Committee Member of Coimbatore Next; R Arun, Vice President of SIEMA; Mr. K Veluswami, Chairman of IIF Coimbatore Chapter; and Nandakumar, Director of Kongu Global Forum, along with several other members of Coimbatore’s industry and civil society.

Dr. R Nandini, Chairperson, CII Southern Region, sought the Government's support in establishing a Joint Consultative Forum aimed at enhancing the industrial ecosystem in the state and thereby creating a platform for the industry and government to have a measurable outcome.

Appreciating the rapid progress made by Tamil Nadu in the top five rankings among states in the country on parameters like revenue, ease of doing business, education, industrial development, and infrastructure, Dr. Nandini mentioned that she was gratified to witness the progress of Tamil Nadu under the visionary leadership of the Honourable Chief Minister.

Arjun Prakash, Past Chairman, CII Coimbatore, deliberated on ‘Coimbatore Next’, an initiative aimed at transforming Coimbatore into one of Asia's fastest-growing regions through sustainable and inclusive growth. He invited the participation of all regional associations to join hands for this common cause aimed at strengthening local industries, attracting new investments, and nurturing the startup ecosystem.

Thirugnanam, President of CODISSIA, appreciated the Government for undertaking investments in the region to the tune of Rs. 9 crore for an EV cluster and requested an exclusive Global Investors Meet focusing on MSMEs to scale them up through promoting global collaborations.
