Aishwariam Social Welfare Organisation and Resource Training Centre continues to empower those from the weaker sections of our society through its training programmes

With funds from good Samaritans and its core members and with the intention to empower those from weaker sections of our society, S Joel Santhiyakumar, a native of Coimbatore founded the Aishwariam Social Welfare Organisation and Resource Training Centre. Ever since he was a kid, his aim was to reach out to the needy and help them in whatever way he can. Thus, in the year 2006, with funds from his own pocket and funds from his known circle, Joel started this NGO which is a training centre that offers training in various vocational streams.

Its main beneficiaries are children and women from weaker sections of our society. “Our NGO offers training free of cost to the needy through our various programmes. Our centre is equipped with various facilities like a tailoring lab, computer lab among others. Till date more than 9,000 women have taken advantage of our various training programmes.”

“Despite being a training centre, we follow a strict time table. Each training programme runs for 72 days and the candidate is offered training for the duration of 560 hours. Our students include school drop-outs, single mothers, widowed, those suffering mental disorders among other women who wish to master a skill and become independent. The aim of this centre is to make such individuals stand on their own feet.” Joel says.
Aishwariam Social Welfare Organisation and Resource Training Centre conducts classes at its centre in Thudiyalur on all weekdays, from Monday to Friday between 9:30 am to 6:30 pm. This centre has hired staff who are experts in their respective field to conduct the training programmes. A set of volunteers also assist in the various activates.
