Anti-Smoking Awareness Cycle Rally Held at Race Course, Coimbatore

In observance of World No Tobacco Day, an awareness cycle rally was conducted at Race Course, Coimbatore. The event included a walkathon and distribution of awareness pamphlets.


Coimbatore: Marking World No Tobacco Day, Coimbatore witnessed various awareness programs, including a significant event at the Race Course area organized by the Ramakrishna Hospital. The program featured a cycle rally and walkathon aimed at promoting anti-smoking awareness among the public. Held on June 3, the event began with Inspector Arjunan initiating the rally.




Prior to the rally, college students performed a dance act emphasizing the dangers of smoking and took a pledge against tobacco use. The participants, including students, doctors, and teachers, walked approximately 3 kilometers, holding banners that highlighted the adverse effects of smoking.




During the cycling and walking event, informative pamphlets detailing the ill effects and diseases caused by smoking were distributed to the bystanders, raising community awareness on tobacco's health risks.
