The queen of hills, Nilgris is the most sought place by the tourists, every summer. As summer holidays have almost begun, the scenic and serene Ooty is thronged by tourists who are mostly from the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka.
In a bid to manage the traffic congestion in the city, the Superintendent of Police, Murali Ramba has announced several traffic diversions for this season time. The traffic diversions has been implemented from 8th April to 31st May 2017.
- All vehicles from Coimbatore to Ooty will have to divert at Kattery Junction and take the Kethi - Palada route to reach Ooty.
- All light-weight vehicles from Karnataka to Ooty should use the Thalakundha route and reach Pudhumandhu and reach Ooty.
- All light-weight vehicles from Kerala using Thalakundha route should take the Kulicholai route to reach Ooty.
- No tourist vehicles will be permitted to use the Kalatti road.
