Schools in Tamil Nadu to Reopen on June 6, Announces Education Department

Tamil Nadu Education Department has announced that schools from class 1 to 12 will reopen on June 6, following the conclusion of annual exams and summer vacation.

Coimbatore: As the annual public and final exams conclude, students across Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore, have commenced their summer vacation. Traditionally, schools in the region reopen in the first week of June after the holiday period. However, reopening dates may sometimes be postponed due to extreme summer temperatures or other logistic reasons.

This year, following the parliamentary election results on June 4, there were speculations about a possible delay in school reopening. Nonetheless, the Education Department has confirmed that for the academic year 2024-2025, schools for classes 1 to 12 will commence on Thursday, June 6. This announcement was made on May 24.

The department has instructed all senior educational officers to make necessary preparations for the reopening on the specified date. Additionally, it is emphasized that immediate actions are required to ensure all schools are ready for the reopening.
