In an award function that was hosted at the Paul Harris hall at chamber towers, the Sular sangam in recognized individuals who have made a contribution in the field of social development and language with the Ayintamil Award. Gurpreet Singh, President of Sular sangam delivered the presidential address. Kavidasan was the head of this award function and Marappan was the chief guest for the award function.

This year 5 individuals were presented with awards in the field of music, drama, spirituality and science in order to encourage them. Isai Tamil Maamani award was given to Swarna Somusundaram, Nadaga Tamil Mani award was presented to Kumerasan, Marudasalam Adigallar bagged the Anmeega Tamil Mamani award, Mohan was handed over the Ariviyal Tamil Maamani award and Kovai Gokulam won the Iyar Tamil Mani award.
At this award function, Kavidasan addressed the audience that included Ramkumar, Secretary of Sular sangam, Chitra Manoharan, plan head, Sular sangam, Service director of Sular sangam Narayanan Kumar among the general public. In his address the chief guest emphasised on the importance of encouraging those who are making a contribution towards Tamil language. He appreciated the work of the Sular sangam.

“Each and every region has something unique and special that it can be proud of. Our region has a rich heritage, culture and language to boast of. It is the responsibility of the current generation to pass on the values, tradition and culture of Tamils to the future generation. Such awards go a long way in encouraging the individuals achieve this goal. They also motivate such individuals to work in this direction. Every year these awards are given to deserving individuals in this field. We must remember that science and spirituality are the two eyes of a human being. New inventions in science and technology helps us to progress and grow while spirituality helps an individual to grow. We must look at the world with these two eyes.” Kavidasan said.
