Two Arrested for Ganja Sale Near Karattumedu, Coimbatore

On May 17, Coimbatore police arrested two individuals near Karattumedu for possessing and allegedly selling ganja, seizing over a kilogram of the substance.


Coimbatore: In a continued effort to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and create a drug-free Coimbatore, Superintendent of Police Badrinayaranan's proactive approach led to a significant arrest on Wednesday.

Acting on confidential information, the local police conducted a raid in the Mettupalayam area near Karattumedu.

The raid resulted in the arrest of two individuals from the Mettupalayam region, identified as Sekar, son of Kaliyappan, also known as Nay Sekar, and Abbas's son Sansa. The duo was found in possession of ganja intended for sale. During the operation, police seized 1 kilogram and 150 grams of ganja. The arrested individuals have been taken into judicial custody pending further investigation.
