Dharapuram: The Mahila Congress team, under the leadership of Tamil Nadu General Secretary Malathi, celebrated Mother’s Day with zeal at Sai Elderly Home in Dharapuram. The event was initiated by the local Congress leaders including the district heads, reflecting a strong community spirit. Malathi, amidst distributing sweets, emphasized the invaluable role of mothers and shared some insights on societal challenges they overcome. She quoted the Tamil poet Avvaiyar stating “The mother and father are the first visible gods,” highlighting the sanctity of motherhood in culture.




The event also saw the presence of senior leaders from the Mahila Congress who appreciated the everyday heroism of mothers. The gathering included speeches on the significance of nurturing roles that women play, not just in families but in society at large. As part of the celebration, elders at the home were also treated to cake and a special morning meal, bringing joy to many on this significant day.
