Vanathi Srinivasan Urges Congress to Act Against Sam Pitroda for Racial Remarks

Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan condemned Sam Pitroda's racial comments and demanded Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi to seek an apology and take disciplinary action.

Coimbatore: In a recent statement released today (May 8), Vanathi Srinivasan, the MLA of Coimbatore South, strongly condemned Sam Pitroda for his racial comments on Indians and demanded that the Congress party take stringent action. She emphasized that Pitroda's remarks were not only deplorable but reflective of a deep-seated racial bias that could disrupt national unity. Pitroda, a close associate of the Gandhi family and a prominent figure in Congress, reportedly commented in an interview with 'The Statesman' that people from different regions of India resemble different ethnic groups from around the world, effectively stereotyping them based on their appearance.

Vanathi criticized the Congress leadership for not distancing themselves from Pitroda's views, which she argued, represent a fundamental ideological failure on their part that has been continually dividing the nation on racial lines. She pointed out that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi promotes unity with 'One India, Great India,' Congress's actions, influenced by such racial remarks, tend to divide the nation.

The MLA highlighted that Pitroda's comments were not just a personal opinion but reflected a consistent attempt by Congress to categorize and differentiate Indians based on their racial features. This action, she noted, was reminiscent of the colonial mentality that categorized and subjugated people. As the conversation around Pitroda’s comments grows, Vanathi called for a public apology from both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and demanded concrete disciplinary measures against Pitroda to prove Congress's commitment to a unified India.
