Severe Accident at Gandhipuram Bus Stand in Coimbatore, Video Goes Viral

A major accident occurred at Gandhipuram bus stand in Coimbatore on May 6th, when a private bus lost control, injuring 9 people. The viral video has sparked widespread concern.


Coimbatore: A grave accident at the Gandhipuram bus stand in Coimbatore has left 9 individuals injured as a private bus, operating between Gandhipuram and Kanuvai, failed to halt due to brake failure. The incident, which took place early in the morning on May 6, saw the bus driver attempting to stop the vehicle as it entered the crowded bus stand. In a desperate move to avoid hitting other buses lined up at the stand, the driver veered the bus to the left.


Unfortunately, the bus plowed through the central barriers, striking unsuspecting passengers waiting for another bus and halted only after hitting a concrete barrier and the rear of a government bus headed to Kinathukadavu. Among the injured includes a local vendor, Murugesan, aged 50. Subsequent to the crash, all injured were rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for medical treatment.




The Coimbatore East Traffic Investigation Department has registered a case regarding the incident and has taken the damaged bus to the police station for further examination. The bus driver, identified as Sanjeev, aged 20, is currently under police investigation. In the meantime, the video of the accident has been widely shared on social media platforms, gaining viral status on May 7th.
