Savukku Shankar was arrested early that morning by Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police while staying in Theni. As the police were transporting him to Coimbatore, the accident took place near Dharapuram. Local resident Loganathan, who was driving the other car involved, confirmed the occurrence.
