Former MDMK Assembly Leader Duraisamy was expelled from the party for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities. MDMK leaders, including Auditor Arjunaraj, commented on the matter during a press meet in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Former MDMK Assembly Leader, Duraisamy, has been officially expelled from the party for engaging in activities that go against party interests. Auditor Arjunaraj, the current MDMK Assembly Leader in Coimbatore, delivered a stirring address to the media, laying out the reasons for Duraisamy's expulsion and highlighting the upcoming initiatives of the party as it celebrates its 31st year.
At a press meet, Auditor Arjunaraj detailed the history and achievements of MDMK over the past three decades, applauding the leadership of Vaiko, who he said has always prioritized social welfare over personal gain. "While many parties have come and gone, MDMK continues to march forward with vigorous dedication," Arjunaraj asserted.
Arjunaraj criticized the recent accusations made by the expelled leader Duraisamy, saying, “Our former assembly leader Duraisamy released a statement a few days ago claiming that Vaiko has changed affiliations; however, these claims are baseless."
He further stressed, "MDMK has never compromised its principles for political gain. We remain steadfast in our commitment to the Tamil community, and Duraisamy no longer holds any credibility in discussing party matters."
In addition to marking the party's foundation day by hoisting the party flag at the MDMK head office in Gandhipuram, Arjunaraj discussed the symbolism of the election symbols — the Rising Sun previously and the Matchbox in the most recent elections, emphasizing the party's adaptability and resilience.

As the press meet at Gandhipuram drew to a close, notable figures including city secretary Ganapathi Selvaraj, high committee member RR Mohan Kumar, law secretary Soori Nandagopal, and district assembly leaders were present, illustrating the broad support within MDMK for the current leadership and its policies.
