Tourist Bus from Ooty Meets Accident on Kotagiri Route, Multiple Injuries Reported

A tourist bus returning from Ooty met with an accident near Bhavani Sagar View Point on the Kotagiri route, injuring 31, including 15 children. Emergency treatments are underway.


Coimbatore: A severe road accident occurred on the Kotagiri route near Bhavani Sagar View Point as a tourist bus, carrying 31 passengers from Chennai, lost control and plunged into a ditch. This incident took place when the bus was returning from a two-day trip to Ooty.


The bus had arrived in Mettupalayam via train from Chennai three days prior and went to Ooty for sightseeing. While returning via Kotagiri, the disaster struck leading to injuries among 16 adults and 15 children. All injured were immediately rushed to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital for emergency medical treatment.




Further, at least 10 severely injured individuals were transferred to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for specialized care. Medical teams at these facilities are currently providing intensive treatments to the victims ensuring necessary medical attention is extended.
