College Student Robbed Under Rathinapuri Bridge in Coimbatore

On April 29, two assailants threatened and robbed a student, Nandhakumar, of his mobile phone and cash under the Rathinapuri bridge, Coimbatore. Police are investigating.


Coimbatore: A distressing incident of robbery has come to light where an 18-year-old college student was threatened and robbed under the Rathinapuri bridge in Coimbatore. The victim, Nandhakumar, a resident of Ganapathi Palayam Nagar and a first-year BSc student at a private college in Coimbatore, was walking to meet a friend when he was intercepted by two individuals.


The assailants demanded his mobile phone and cash. Upon his refusal, they forcefully took his phone and Rs. 1000 before fleeing the scene. Nandhakumar reported the incident to the Rathinapuri police, who have registered a case and are currently searching for the two culprits involved in this robbery.
