Technical Glitch in Nilgiris Strong Room Monitoring, Stresses Continuous Vigilance: L.Murugan

L.Murugan addresses a technical issue causing a 20-minute camera outage in the Nilgiris strong room, emphasizes the need for round-the-clock scrutiny by the Election Commission due to weather conditions and technical faults.

Coimbatore: During a recent visit to Mettupalayam after arriving at Coimbatore Airport from Chennai, Union Minister L.Murugan reported a technical glitch that interrupted the livestream from a camera in the Nilgiris strong room for 20 minutes. The incident occurred yesterday, and it was suggested that such glitches should not happen, ensuring the Election Commission’s role in constant monitoring.

He emphasized the importance of continuous 24-hour surveillance by the Election Commission without citing any reasons, despite the absence of the regional heat issues that often affect electronic devices in areas like Salem and Namakkal.

This follows allegations from L.Murugan regarding missing names of voters favoring BJP in various locations, asserting that these omissions across Tamil Nadu, including Nilgiris and South Chennai, were deliberate by opposition parties to undermine BJP’s support base.

In a rebuttal to the accusations concerning EVM machines, L.Murugan affirmed that the Election Commission had clarified that the machines could not be tampered with, which was also validated by the Supreme Court. He also criticized the opposition parties, suggesting that their fears of defeat are evident in their accusations.

L.Murugan concluded his statement by reflecting on the broader national sentiment, mentioning that the long-standing dream of Indians has been fulfilled with the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya after 500 years of struggle, and questioned Rahul Gandhi's stance on Hindu deities, hinting at a deeper ideological disagreement.
