The organizers of the 'Book Festival' at Codissia have been organizing several awareness campaigns to induce the youngsters to get back to the culture of book reading, With the advent of technology, people especially students regard book reading as 'Outmoded'.

In this regard, an event called 'Arivukeni' was hosted in the city for children to kindle their habit of book reading.
Like the olden days where tree shades were used for story telling sessions, a story telling session was held in Kovaipudur by Bharath Seon Foundation. Close to 60 children from Kovaipudur and from Bharath Seon Foundation took part in this nostalgic session, where students gathered under a peepal tree at Arivoli Nagar for a stort telling session. College students from various institutes conducted the story-telling session which the childrens enjoyed thoroughly.
At the end of the session, all the children were gifted with books.
