Two Arrested for Attempting to Sell Ganja in Dharapuram

In Dharapuram, Tirupur district, two individuals were arrested for attempting to sell Ganja. Over 1 kg of cannabis was seized by the police.


Tirupur: In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Dharapuram Police apprehended two individuals attempting to distribute ganja.

Following reports of illicit drug activities in the area, the Assistant Inspector Shivaraj led a team that stopped two suspects behaving suspiciously around the ITI Corner.


Upon interrogation and inconsistent explanations, the suspects were taken to the Dharapuram Police Station. The continuous investigation under Inspector Ravi confirmed the illegal sale intentions, and 1 kg of ganja was confiscated. The suspects, identified as Devesh Rajak from Keeranur, Palani, aged 32, and Yasar Arafath from Kongarasampalayam, Dharapuram, aged 20, were detained.


The operation sheds light on the heightened vigilance against the illegal cannabis trade in the Dharapuram surrounding areas.
