Goondas Act Imposed on Recidivist Involved in Continuous Crimes

In Coimbatore, at the Kottur Police Station limits, Muthusamy's son Amukka Mani alias Manikandan has been arrested and detained under the stringent Goondas Act for his ongoing involvement in violent offenses.



Coimbatore: In a significant move to curb recurrent criminal activities, the Coimbatore Police have apprehended and subsequently jailed Manikandan, aged 36, hailing from the Kottur area, under the harsh provisions of the Goondas Act. 



Known for a series of assault and crime cases, Manikandan, son of Muthusamy, has been a notorious figure in his locality. 

Based on recommendations by Badrinarayanan, the police superintendent overseeing the Coimbatore district, District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati sanctioned actions under the Goondas Act. This stringent legal measure was executed to prevent Manikandan from further disrupting public order. Following the official order from the Collector, Manikandan, culpable of various assault cases, was officially detained under the Goondas Act, April 26. The local authorities affirmed that such decisive actions are vital to ensuring community safety and reducing crime rates.
