New Summer Special Weekly Train Services Announced Between Coimbatore and Dhanbad

Southern Railways has introduced new train services between Coimbatore and Dhanbad, operating on Fridays and Mondays respectively, starting late April. The trains will offer sleeper and general class accommodations.


Coimbatore: In a major development, the Southern Railways has announced the commencement of new train services between Coimbatore Junction and Dhanbad. This new weekly service aims to enhance connectivity and cater to the increased travel demands between the two cities. Starting from April 26, 2024, for Coimbatore departure, and from April 29, 2024, for Dhanbad departure, the services will operate once a week on their respective days. Train No.06063 will depart from Coimbatore every Friday, while Train No.06064 will make its return journey from Dhanbad on Mondays.

The trains will consist of sleeper class and general second class compartments, including 18 coaches and a luggage cum brake van. The routes will encompass major stations such as Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Katpadi, Vijayawada, and many more, facilitating travelers from various parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and beyond. The schedule is meticulously planned to ensure optimal travel time and convenience for passengers.

For travelers and daily commuters, this new service is expected to be a boon, reducing travel times and providing efficient transportation options.



The Railway department has released the detailed timings for the respective train services, with Train No.06063 departing Coimbatore at 11:50 AM and arriving in Dhanbad at 08:30 AM on Sunday. Conversely, Train No.06064 will leave Dhanbad at 03:45 AM and is scheduled to reach Coimbatore Junction at 06:00 AM on Wednesday.

The introduction of these trains marks a significant enhancement in the railway network and is anticipated to be well-received by the public, fostering greater economic and social ties between the southern and eastern parts of India.
