Traffic Diversions Announced in Coimbatore for Thandumariamman Temple Festival

Traffic diversions announced in Coimbatore on April 24 due to Thandumariamman Temple Festival. Alterations effective from 6 AM to Noon to accommodate the processions.


Coimbatore: Due to the Thandumariamman Temple Festival happening tomorrow, Coimbatore will experience several traffic diversions between 6 AM and Noon, as stated by the police department today. Devotees will proceed from Koni Amman Temple through Town Hall, Oppanakara Street, Lingappa Chetty Street, Syrian Church Street, Brooke Bond Road, Kaleeswara Mill Road, and Nanjappa Road, culminating at Avinashi Road heading towards Thandumariamman Temple.

The police have redirected traffic in certain parts of the city in view of this procession. Vehicles coming from Pollachi and Palakkad can take the Ukkadam-Valankulam bypass via Sungam junction or proceed via Ukkadam-Perur Bypass Road. Similarly, from Mettupalayam Road and Thadagam Road towards Palakkad, vehicles can navigate through Ponnaiyarajapuram, Soka Muthur, Sivalaya Theater intersection, and then to Ukkadam via Perur Bypass Road.

Moreover, vehicles heading to the city from Perur Road can approach Gandhipark via Sivalaya Theatre Junction, Soka Muthur, Ponnaiyarajapuram, and Thadagam Road or take the Perur-Ukkadam Bypass Road. On Avinashi Road, the old overbridge will not be accessible during the specified hours tomorrow, directing vehicles towards Ukkadam via Trichy Road instead.

Additionally, no permission is granted tomorrow for vehicles on Trichy Road to proceed to Ukkadam via Town Hall; light vehicles can use Vincent Road and heavy vehicles are advised to use Sungam route for Ukkadam.
